Birth of the Pink Warriors

A doodle of friends catching-up: Annkie, Gwyn, Jackie and Eva.
A doodled inspired knitted doll which I called Project Pink Warriors.  Large doll is named Ewa-J and the small one is called Maggie-Mae.

Pink Warriors to say "Thank You"

"Don't count the days, make the days count", I have tried to live by this inspirational quote, but I find my self keep counting my days and that I am living on borrow times.  However, I do want to make my days count and hence I made good with my knitting.  Knitting has kept me sane when I was desperately feeling low.  I like to design and my character creations made me smiles.  I knit with my heart because I think of my dearest son, families and friends.  The magical moment is seeing my designs comes to life:  “knit smiles ~ knit ♥ ~ knitting magic”

The idea of Project Pink Warriors was inspired by family, kinships and supports when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in July 2011 and my subsequent journey through surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.  It was a very, very personal, extremely painful and tortuous road to recovery.  I would have given up, if not for the kind, caring and tremendous supports from families, friends and people at Maggie’s Cancer Support Centre.

Project Pink Warriors is a set of knitting patterns that I have created and have donated to Maggie's.  The small version is named "Maggie-Mae", which is going to be published in the "Knitting" magazine in the October issue to coincide with "Pink October for Breast Cancer Awareness", on sale from 27th September 2011.  Large doll named "Ewa-J" will be on sale online, final details will be posted later.
